However, the process of founding the Student Council is characterized by caution: First, a committee is set up to gather information about the teachers&#8217; assembly&#8217;s position on the idea, before it is realized at a student meeting where the mayor of the city and the chairman of the teachers&#8217; assembly are also present. Down with the professors and in with socially relevant education and student influence are the slogans. At this time, the student council is characterized by ideological factions, with predominantly left-wing students. The Student Front is the largest of these, and it is behind many actions in favor of views similar to those of the Student Council.<br\/>The time after the student rebellion is one of the most important for the Student Council, as two crucial things happen during this period: The students manifest themselves as an independent interest group that manages to make themselves visible both inside and outside the university walls. This is because the law repeals the 1921 royal decree that recognized the student councils at the country&#8217;s universities as the students&#8217; representatives. Instead, politicians, encouraged by the most persistent factionalists in the Student Council, introduce a list election for student representatives in the governing bodies. The Student Council sees this as interference in the students&#8217; organizational affairs and chooses to boycott the work of the governing bodies in the hope of changing the law.   <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-left\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p><strong>1973<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" data-block-type=\"core\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sr.au.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/historie1-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\" data-block-type=\"core\">Under the new government, there are plans to change the Governing Bodies Act, but this does not happen, and the aforementioned conditions regarding list elections are maintained. Therefore, since 1999, they have worked together in a unified organization, where all students at Aarhus University are once again represented by a unified and strengthened organization. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-left\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p><strong>2007<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\" data-block-type=\"core\">Aarhus University merges with, among others, Aarhus School of Business (ASB), and the Student Council initiates collaboration with the Student Guild from ASB in the organization De Studerendes R\u00e5d og Laug (SRL), which has been behind Denmark&#8217;s Biggest Friday Bar.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-right\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p><strong>2020<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\" data-block-type=\"core\">The lockdowns during COVID-19 left many students struggling with well-being, isolation and motivation. The Student Council worked for clear communication, mental health and got the activity requirement abolished. We also had a seat in the Youth Crisis Management in Aarhus Municipality to strengthen the students&#8217; voice.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-left\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p>2025<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\" data-block-type=\"core\">Locally, our student council works to strengthen the study environment, well-being and community throughout the university. Through collaboration with the university management, national student organizations and other partners, the Student Council works for better study conditions, a greener campus and strong voluntary communities.
