Every year, the Student Council organizes a number of major events for students at Aarhus University. From Denmark’s Biggest Friday Bar & Sports Day to the annual Student Fair. As a student, you can both participate in the festivities and volunteer behind the scenes, where you get unique experiences and become part of a strong community. You can read more about them below.
AU Run
AU run is a fun run that brings together students in Aarhus for a sports day where participants run 5 or 10 km around the beautiful Unipark. The route shows the campus from its best side and gives the participants a well-deserved break from their studies. After the run, a cozy afternoon in the park is set up with a bar from Student House Aarhus, music and food stalls.
Study fairs
Student Council Student Fair 2026
August 31 – September 2
The Student Council Student Fair is held once a year and is a success for both participants and students. It is possible to buy a stand at the annual student fair, which is held in September and lasts for three days. Over the three days, more than 15,000 visitors come to the fair.
The students are looking for good study programs and want to get in touch with the participating companies. It is an opportunity for both private and public companies to meet the students in their own environment.

Denmark’s largest Friday bar and sports day
Every year in September, the Student Council together with Aarhus University Sports (AUS) hosts Denmark’s Biggest Friday Bar & Sports Day, which is a huge sports and party day for all students at Aarhus University and other higher education institutions in Aarhus.
This year it will be held on Friday, September 11.
The purpose of Denmark’s Biggest Friday Bar & Sports Day is to create an event that can give both new and old students a feeling of being part of a larger community.
In the morning, the various sports associations under AYY Sports Day will start with various tournaments.
Students can sign up for Sports Day and compete against each other in beach volleyball, football and beer bowling. Students also have the opportunity to relax on the lawns with cheap and cold beers before the concerts start in the early evening. The music program is always put together so there is something for everyone.
The planning of Denmark’s Biggest Friday Bar & Sports Day is ongoing. On the website www.danmarks-storste.dk and the event’s Facebook group, you can follow the work and read the very latest news about this year’s event.

Volunteer gala
Volunteer Gala is an annual celebration of the volunteer enthusiasts at AU. You participate with your organization and enjoy a wonderful evening with delicious food, inspiring speeches and then a party. It all takes place in Stakladen, which is filled with beautiful people in their best gala outfits.
Sandberg seminar
The Sandbjerg seminar is the Student Council’s training seminar for elected student representatives at AU. The seminar includes presentations, workshops and social activities that give participants the opportunity to develop and network to become even better at representing their fellow students. The seminar is held in collaboration with Aarhus University
